Lily eating Oatmeal

Raisin Oatmeal

In the new year we decided to eat healthier, which means so do our beautiful children. Lily is 20 months old and such an amazing eater! She loves food. Her current obsession is “bebes”, which are grapes or raisins. I don’t know if she knows the difference or is just too lazy to come up with a new word for the similar items. She could possibly also just be so smart that she knows that raisins are dried up grapes. Anyways, she loves raisins. This morning I decided to make her oatmeal with raisins. Last night I read an article about coconut oil being great to help lose the “muffin top” and decided that I am going to start drinking it haha. I added about 1 Tablespoon to my 1 cup of oats and 1.5 cups water to cook the oatmeal. When it was almost cooked I added about 1 cup of raisins.  She loves to come and help cook. She comes in and says “Lily cook” and we get the step stool or hold her while she stirs.   We want to teach her everything we can about everything. Daddy also made her Quinoa flour, coconut oil, banana waffles. She happily spooned the oatmeal in and scarfed the waffles. She started by saying “faffles” but by the end of breakfast, she had it. We usually feed her what we eat and it has payed off. She eats salad and veggies with no problems.  As a kid, we ate really healthy. I was not allowed to eat sugar cereal or food with too many processed ingredients and now I love salads, veggies and other healthy dishes. Thanks mom! 🙂 We have to start them young!

Day 1, Meal 1 of eating healthy was a success!
